people-jenniferJennifer S. Gormley, Esq.

Jennifer, the firm’s founder, is licensed to practice law in all of Colorado’s district and appellate courts and in the United States District Courts.  Jennifer specializes in Elder Law, estates and trusts, disability law, and probate, including probate and fiduciary litigation, protective proceedings, estate and trust administration, and estate and long term care planning.  Jennifer is active with Colorado Bar Association, having chaired the Elder Law Section, and the Elder Law Section CLE and Publications Committee, served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Solo Small Firm Section and served on the Steering Committee of the Colorado Bar Association Leadership Training Program (COBALT).  Jennifer has authored articles nationally and internationally, including articles appearing in The Colorado Lawyer, and is a sought-after speaker who frequently lectures at events including Continuing Legal Education programs for attorneys.  Jennifer is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, teaching Elder Law since 2005.  Jennifer has also chaired the Elder Law Institute, which provides advanced training programs for attorneys and professionals.  Jennifer received her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 1995, and a Master’s degree from the University of Colorado in 1994.  Jennifer’s Master’s degree program focused on law and public policy with an emphasis on aging.  Jennifer served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Senior Resource Center from 2003 until 2008, a position that she has again resumed in 2014.  Ms. Gormley is also the founding and current President of the Colorado Guardianship Association, a leading organization for education, training and networking for professional guardians and professional fiduciaries in Colorado.

Susan has been a paralegal for nine years. She graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor’s Degree in English in 1991 and earned her Certified Paralegal (CP) credential through the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). She recently earned her Advanced Paralegal Certification (ACP) credential in Social Security Disability, becoming the first paralegal in the State of Colorado with this credential.  She received two Masters Degrees, one in Secondary Education and one in Humanities, from the University of Colorado. She enjoys working with clients with a variety of backgrounds and legal needs.


Denise Gutierrez

The Office Manager and NALA Paralegal, Denise has worked as a paralegal and office manager in the Law Office of Jennifer S. Gormley PC since May, 2000. She has focused in the areas of Probate Administration and Litigation, Guardianships and Conservatorships, Estate Planning and Social Security Disability law. She is a graduate of Colorado State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Horticulture and is a certified paralegal having passed the national examination administered by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).


Cayce Gates

Cayce is a Legal Assistant and the Marketing/Social Media Director at the Law Office of Jennifer S. Gormley, PC.  He graduated from Metropolitan State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.  Cayce thrives when given the opportunity to apply his creative acumen toward the goal of growing firm’s presence through a myriad of platforms.  He enjoys assisting in Probate Matters, Estate Planning, and Guardianships and Conservatorships.


Our Team

Most of our paralegals have passed the rigorous national examination administered by the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA). In order to maintain their certification these paralegals attend ongoing continuing legal education programs.
